Fighting hunger, feeding hope: Second Harvest brings community resources together to feed

people in need through empowerment, education and partnerships.

We believe that everyone has the right to health, and nutritious food is a key ingredient in the

recipe for a healthy life. We envision a world in which every person - regardless of age, race,

ability, income or status - has access to the food they need to live a life full of the activities and

people they love. That's why Second Harvest works hard to get food onto the tables of families,

kids and seniors facing hunger in our community.

Second Harvest is a nonprofit that supplies a network of partner food banks, meal sites

and other programs feeding people in need in 21 counties in Eastern Washington and 5

counties in North Idaho.

Second Harvest knows there is no "one size fits all" solution to hunger. That's why we use a

variety of strategies to get food to people who need it. We make sure our services are

innovative, collaborative and practical to best serve our community.

We simply couldn't do what we do without our volunteers. Each year, more than 8,000

volunteers step through our front doors and become a part of the solution to hunger in

our community. They bring their passion, energy and skills to the table so they can put

food onto the tables of their neighbors in need. No matter your age or ability, you can play

a role in solving hunger. Sign up to volunteer now at the hunger solution center nearest
