Today, about 20 percent of Marcella's Bridal wedding gown sales are comprised of custom made gowns. Traditionally wedding dresses were always handmade custom fitted gowns for that perfect fit. But over the years traditions have changed and sewing is almost a lost art.

On the other hand, most of us cannot buy a dress right off of the rack and wear it home. Alterations are a part of life, especially when referring to a wedding dress. Alteration costs must be budgeted into any wedding gown purchase, unless of course you buy an original custom made wedding gown from Marcella's. All alterations are included in the price of the custom made gown.

There are several reasons to buy an original custom made wedding gown. Many customers choose a custom gown because they know that the quality of a custom gown will far surpass any ready-made dress off the rack. Some customers have physical challenges that they must account for like height, weight, or body shape. We have made several custom gowns for our brides who are in a wheel-chair. In the end, the reason why is not as important as the end result; you look beautiful on the most important day of your life, your wedding day.

You will be asked several questions to get an idea of your budget and what you are looking for in your perfect dress. You should either have an idea in your mind or bring in several pictures that show what different attributes you desire in your dress. We will combine your ideas and draw a picture of what you are describing. Your measurements will be taken at the time the order is taken, and you should count on at least two additional times to come in for fittings before your dress will be complete.
